Overview

Welcome to Mikumi national park rich in wildlife like buffalo, elephant, lions, wildebeests, Maasai giraffe, hippos, impalas, crocodiles, there are also, zebras and wart hogs. Most of the animals can be seen at all season. Drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi national park is about 5 hours driving.

Itinerary

Early in the morning pick up from your hotel or from the airport (depending on the arrival time) and start a drive to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro where you will have coffee break either in Chalinze or Morogoro town. You will arrive in the Park around noon and go straight for game drives around the park with packed lunch at a picnic site. Later in the afternoon we drive to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

Spend a full day game drives around the Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch or do morning and afternoon game drives with a lunch break at the lodge/tented camp. Mikumi National Park is part of the larger Selous Ecosystem together with the Selous Game Reserve, home of large numbers of animal and bird’s species including giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests, elands and many other antelopes. After game drive will go back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Early morning of this day you will have morning game drives till around 08:00 hours (Also possible to have guided bush walking safari for an extra cost instead of a morning game drives) whereby you will have breakfast within the park and thereafter start drive back to Dar and when you arrive in Dar you will be taken to your hotel (with possible connection to Zanzibar by the last boat at 16:00 hours) and that will be the end of your safari with us.
